Knight's Armament Company: Pioneering Excellence in Firearm Technology and Night Vision

Knight’s Armament Company (KAC) stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence in the realm of firearms, particularly with its AR-15s, and Knight Vision—a testament to their commitment to providing optimized performance for individual users through evolutionary design.

KAC's Evolutionary Design for Optimal Performance

From performance and reliability to adaptability, ergonomics, and weight, KAC's commitment to excellence is evident in every facet of their firearm product lines. Ambidextrous controls, a pioneering move by KAC, set the stage for user-friendly interfaces that prioritize safety, confidence, and intuitive use. The evolution of operating systems ensures unparalleled system life, reliability, and operational robustness.

Revolutionizing Night Vision with Knight Vision

Over 30 years ago, the U.S. Government sought clip-on weapon sight solutions for military users, leading C. Reed Knight, Jr. to establish KAC as a leader in research and development. The NADS (Night Augmented Day Sight) program, funded by JSOC in 1994, marked a turning point, giving rise to the AN/PVS series—the next generations of clip-on weapon sights.

The innovation didn't stop there. KAC's patented boresight technology (BAR) and a single throw lever mount created a force multiplier for Clip-On Weapon Sight (WS) capability, eliminating the need for warfighters to carry multiple specialized guns. This inline solution allowed seamless transition between guns without any boresight adjustments.

Initially underestimated, clip-on weapon sights met the needs of specialized user groups who refused to compromise their established rifle and day scope setups. The "Clip-On" device added night capability without disturbing the original platform, maintaining the shooter's zero and preserving characteristics like eye relief and cheek-weld.

The Knight's Armament inline approach, using factory-set wedge-prisms, compensates for any image shift in day optics, ensuring trust, precision, speed, and familiarity. This approach not only met but exceeded user requirements, gaining trust and confidence in the most demanding situations.

What is Knight's Armament doing to Continue Innovation and Dedication?

KAC's KnightVision™ remains unwavering in its dedication to research, design, and production of weapon sights and rifles tailored to Special Operator requirements. Constant attention to size and weight reduction, increased power, and extended range performance defines their design philosophy.

From humble beginnings in the early 1990s to a comprehensive family of inline Clip-on Universal Night Sights (UNS), including IR and I2 types, KAC's night vision devices position themselves in front of conventional day scopes, providing users with consistent nighttime zero. Manufactured in-house at KAC's Titusville facility, these state-of-the-art electro-optical units uphold the highest standards of quality.

Knight’s Armament Company has not just kept pace with the evolution of firearm technology; they've been at the forefront, driving innovation, meeting user needs, and setting new standards in the industry. With their commitment to excellence and groundbreaking Knight Vision technology, KAC stands tall as a trailblazer in the world of firearms and night vision.
